The “Pediatric Considerations in Polyposis Conditions” webinar will include education on the following topics:
Endoscopy considerations in pediatrics

- Indications for colectomy and how the decision is made
- Number of polyps, size of polyps, pathology specific gene mutation, family history
- Weighing physical development w/ cancer risk
- What age, social/emotional considerations
- When testing may change management of surveillance
At the conclusion of this webinar, medical professionals will be able to:
Distinguish between general and pediatric endoscopic considerations.
Recall indications for colectomy.
Outline when genetic counseling may change management of surveillance.

This conference has been approved by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) for 6 CECs.
The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized the Hereditary Colon Cancer Foundation to offer up to 0.80 CEUs or 8.00 Category 1 contact hours for the event: Recognizing and Treating Polyposis Conditions. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification.
